Square Footage Calculator
Total area for a room, a floor, or the whole house — add as many rectangular sections as you need and get the sum in feet, yards, and meters.
FAQ
- How do I calculate square footage?
- Length × width for each rectangular section, then add the sections together. This calculator sums up to six rooms or sections at once, so an L-shaped room (split into two rectangles) or a whole floor resolves to a single total.
- How do I handle an L-shaped or irregular room?
- Divide it into rectangles, measure each, and enter them as separate rows. The total adds them up. Any shape made of right angles can be broken into rectangles this way.
- What's the quantity field for?
- Repeated identical sections — three 12×10 bedrooms, say. Set length and width once and put 3 in the quantity column instead of typing the same room three times.
