Black Opium, the undisputed bestseller of the Yves Saint-Laurent house

The Yves Saint-Laurent brand is endowed with immense know-how and profound elegance. However, these are not the only ingredients to have made it known. Indeed, the brand has also flirted many times on the verge of political correctness. Yves Saint-Laurent has given rise to numerous scandals on his way, in particular by creating the Opium perfume, in 1977. Also, as if to succeed this controversial legend, the brand chose to revisit it in 2014. The myth is thus became Black Opium . Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, it immediately transformed into a new bestseller of the Yves Saint-Laurent brand.

The history of Black Opium

When Yves Saint-Laurent created Opium in 1977, he sparked an infinite number of reactions. Adored by some, hated by others, it was even banned in some countries. Indeed, some considered that it encouraged the consumption of illicit products. However, all this controversy gave him good publicity, to the point that this perfume soon fell out of stock. Embodying the image of an elegant, chic and nonchalant woman, he quickly became the star product of the Yves Saint-Laurent house. In 2014, the brand decided, with him, to address a new generation of women. This is how the Black Opium perfume was developed. With him, the atmosphere is quite different and the woman is now revealed under a more carefree and boyish side than before. This one now rises guided by its instinct and its desires, freeing himself with pleasure from social constraints. Black Opium is a rock ‘n’ roll and somewhat experimental scent that doesn’t give a damn about what to say. Its allure is very contemporary and its flavors do not hesitate to take sensuality pushed to the extreme. So, how about diving into the passionate abysses of the Yves Saint-Laurent bestseller?

The gourmet sensuality of Yves Saint-Laurent’s wake

Black Opium is a fragrance that required the collaboration of four designers. After all, it did not take less to reinterpret such a legend! It is the work of Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Honorine Blanc and Olivier Cresp. Together, they have chosen to create an addictive essence, a real drug in the perfume department. Black Opium draws its intensity from the presence of caffeine. Thus, it is about a perfume which does not lack of pep’s! What’s more, it is also spicy with pink berries. Her femininity is reflected in a bouquet of white flowers. Jasmine and orange blossom illuminate its femininity while its accord becomes more and more greedy. Black Opium leaves behind a sweet scent of vanilla. Its wake gradually becomes deeper and more elegant. Its mysterious side is revealed in a duo of cedar and patchouli. Everything is contained in a bottle with a silhouette similar to that of the first Opium. Nevertheless, this one is today decorated with a black sequined dress. Likewise, its central porthole now lets a pink heart sparkle like a diamond.
