Discover Lalique’s new Deux Paons perfume …
The Peacock occupies a privileged place in the enchanted bestiary of René Lalique. Indeed, it lends itself ideally to the aesthetics of Art Nouveau: its sinuous silhouette and shimmering colors decorate many jewels, including the one that inspired this Limited Edition. Its ocellated feathers adorn cups and vases. Proud mascot, his slender crested head stands on the grilles of automobiles from the Roaring Twenties. Its train is deployed on a lamp, a powder box or a table top….
Lalique – Two Peacocks Perfumes
This new 2014 Limited Edition was inspired by the elegant design of the pendant “Deux Paons” (1897-1898) by René Lalique, from the private collection of Shai and Shuxiu Lin Bandmann. stamped on the top of the precious “Prestige” box.
Two peacocks join their beaks on the cork, forming an opening between their heads. Their trains embrace the shoulders and sides of the bottle, opening a colorless crystal window that allows the rich amber shade of the fragrance to catch the light. Once again, all of Lalique’s know-how and high standards are expressed in this creation. The bottle is produced by four master glassmakers, using the fixed hand soufflé technique. Picked at 1150 ° C, the crystal is shaped in a wooden mallet, then placed in a cast iron mold heated to 400 ° C and annealed for 7 hours. For the cork, the technique known as “pressed” requires the work of five master glassmakers. The ocelli adorning the peacock feathers are polished-frosted – operations carried out cold, just like the cutting of the crystal.
The final touch of this artisanal creation: the bottle is signed and numbered before the gold thread is placed on its neck.
Timeless and shimmering, Le Parfum Lalique by Lalique brings together the three most noble flowers in perfumery: a fruity rose, a heady jasmine and a delicately powdery iris. This bouquet blossoms from the first flight, caressed by a spicy breath of wallflower.
At the heart, a touch of wit and modernity animates the fragrance: crisp green of the blackcurrant leaf, cheerful tangy of blackberry, sweet flesh of pear with its facets of rose …
A silky veil of vanilla and musks, to which Mysore sandalwood lends its milky sweetness, marries the fragrance to the skin.
