Chanel N ° 5 Red Edition, the return of a perfume legend

Today, for the very first time, Chanel has decided to reinterpret its iconic bottle. This is how the Chanel N ° 5 Red Edition limited editions appeared . Prepare to welcome them, starting November 1, 2018!
Chanel N ° 5, a legendary perfume
First, let’s start by diving back into the history of the iconic Chanel N ° 5. When Gabrielle Chanel made this juice, her ambition was to “create an inimitable perfume, a perfume unlike any other, a woman’s perfume, with a woman’s scent”. If we believe the destiny of its essence, it is clear that the bet was brilliantly won. Until that time, perfumes were content to be photographs of nature. They were not yet interested in the personalities of women. Gabrielle Chanel revolutionized perfumery.
She made an artificial perfume, that is to say, sewn from scratch, while thinking of the characters and desires of the women of her time. Chanel N ° 5 then knew how to evolve over the years. This floral and aldehyde scent has also been reinterpreted several times. It became an Eau de Toilette in 1924, an Eau de Cologne in 1954, an Eau de Parfum in 1988, an Eau Première in 2009 and N ° 5 L’Eau in 2016. Today, three of these perfumes offer themselves a brand new bottle.
The new red color of Chanel N ° 5 Red Edition perfumes
Chanel has chosen to reinterpret its iconic transparent glass bottle, originally designed by Gabrielle Chanel herself. While its silhouette remains unchanged, this bottle now has a brand new color: a flamboyant red.
However, this change only concerns the Eau de Perfume, Parfum and N ° 5 L’Eau de Chanel versions. Thus, “N ° 5 reveals another facet of the feminine archetype of perfume”. First designed in 1922, the Chanel N ° 5 bottle was then adapted in 1924, until it became the rectangular and luxurious bottle that we know today. Moreover, it is considered to be one of the greatest symbols of 20th and 21st century perfumery. Chanel has chosen to decline it this time in red to symbolize the visionary spirit of Chanel. The sign explains that red is “the color of life, the color of blood”.
Through this shade, Chanel also wishes to make a nod to all femininity. It is a question here of echoing the costume of Carole Bouquet, the dress of Nicole Kidman on the red carpet, a haute couture dress worn by Gisèle Bundchen, or even the film Little Red Riding Hood by Luc Besson. Much more than a simple color chosen at random, the Chanel N ° 5 Red Editions are true symbols of feminine power.
