Bergamot, lemon and orange are responsible for the unique conditioning effect.

Lavender and rosemary have a soothing, relaxing effect and strengthen the nerves.

Orange blossom, derived from the flowers of bitter orange, is calming and has a positive effect on mood.

The bottle – incomparable

Who hasn’t seen it even once? We are talking about the famous Molanus bottle and its unique aesthetic.
Until the beginning of the 19th century, 4711 Original Eau de Cologne was packaged in Rosoli bottles. These vials could only be stored in the supine position and could only be transported under certain conditions.

It was in 1820 that the distiller Peter Heinrich Molanus created the bottle which now bears his name. The particular hexagonal shape of the bottle made it easier to store, use and transport, and also made it possible to affix large-format labels as they are still used today.

The Muelhens house seized on this invention in 1822, but added a protruding collar between the shoulder and the bottle stopper, called a “jabot”. It allows high alcohol content to expand when heated. The 4711 Original Eau de Cologne is still marketed today in this “Molanus bottle”.

The label – it offers more than just viewing pleasure

But the bottle is not the only star, the famous ornamental label very popular with lovers of this perfume all in Bremen blue and gold is also remarkable. It covers the entire bottle, thus protecting its contents from light, an unusually large covering surface and therefore the most beautiful effect on the rays. The medals depicted on the label are just a small sample of the many awards won at exhibitions around the world.

The design is completed with the red seal affixed to the precious golden cap.
